Muehlhausen is a northern district of Stuttgart with around 26,100 residents. The Max-Eyth-See, an artificial lake on the Neckar created from gravel extraction, is Stuttgart's main open-water swimming and sailing spot. Vineyards cover the Neckar slopes above the lake. Muehlhausen was incorporated into Stuttgart in 1933 and retains a village-like character around its original centre.
Stuttgart-Muenster is to the south along the Neckar. Zuffenhausen lies to the west. Kornwestheim is adjacent to the north. The Neckar valley here is relatively wide, with allotment gardens along the banks. Bad Cannstatt is accessible by Stadtbahn. Muehlhausen is more suburban than most inner Stuttgart districts.
