Not to be confused with the spa town Buckow in the Maerkische Schweiz, this Berlin Buckow is purely residential with low-rise housing and garden plots (Schrebergaerten).
The Gropiusstadt, a large 1960s housing estate designed under Walter Gropius's supervision, borders Buckow to the west. Christiane F., whose autobiographical account of drug addiction shocked Germany in 1978, grew up there. The Britzer Garten park is accessible from Buckow's northern edge.
