Vegesack: Bremen's Northern Harbour District, Schulschiff Deutschland, and the Weser-Side Maritime Quarter
Vegesack is a district of Bremen with a population around 34,800. The area lies at the confluence of the Lesum and Weser rivers in the northern part of the city-state. Vegesack has a maritime history: the Vulkan shipyard operated here until 1997, and the harbour area has been partly redeveloped with restaurants and a promenade. The Schulschiff Deutschland, a museum sailing ship, is moored in the harbour.
The Stadtgarten Vegesack provides green space with river views. The Haven Hoevt harbour area hosts events. Burg-Grambke and Blumenthal are neighbouring districts. Bremen Hauptbahnhof is about 25 minutes by regional train. Bremerhaven lies further downstream. Adult companionship follows Bremen's city-state regulations.
