Bad Nauheim's population is around 30,300. The town sits in the Wetterau region of Hessen, about 35 kilometres north of Frankfurt. Its mineral springs, particularly saline and carbonic acid springs, produced a major spa complex built in the early 1900s in a unified Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) style. The Sprudelhof, Badhaus and Trinkkuranlage form one of the largest intact Jugendstil ensembles in Europe.
Elvis Presley was stationed in nearby Friedberg during his military service (1958-1960) and lived in a house on the Goethestrasse in Bad Nauheim. The Kurpark extends along the Usa stream. Friedberg borders to the south. Butzbach is to the north. The Taunus hills rise to the west. Bad Nauheim station connects to Frankfurt by S-Bahn.
