Kelkheim: Moebel-Meile Furniture Mile, Rossert Hill Walks, and the Taunus Commuter Town West of Frankfurt
Kelkheim has around 29,200 inhabitants and lies on the southern slope of the Taunus hills in Hessen, within the Main-Taunus-Kreis. The town became known for its furniture industry, with the Moebel-Meile (furniture mile) along the B455 road drawing buyers from the wider region. Several manufacturers and showrooms still operate. Rossert and Staufen, wooded Taunus peaks, rise directly north.
Frankfurt am Main is roughly 15 kilometres east. Koenigstein im Taunus borders to the north. Hofheim am Taunus is adjacent to the south. The S-Bahn connects Kelkheim to Frankfurt's main station. Kelkheim consists of three merged districts: Kelkheim-Mitte, Muenster, and Fischbach.
