Altglienicke is a locality in Berlin's Treptow-Koepenick borough with around 29,600 residents. Large housing developments from the 1990s and 2000s expanded the area significantly, particularly the Kosmospark and Venuspark estates. Before reunification, Altglienicke was a relatively quiet GDR suburb near the Berlin Wall border.
Schoenefeld and Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) are directly to the south in Brandenburg. Adlershof, with its science and technology park, borders to the north. Gruenau is to the east. The S-Bahn connects to central Berlin. Rudow in Neukoelln lies to the west across the A113 motorway. The Landschaftspark Rudow-Altglienicke provides green space along the former border strip.
