Eving is a district in the northern part of Dortmund in Nordrhein-Westfalen with a population around 38,700. The area was shaped by coal mining; Zeche Minister Stein operated here until 1987. The Brechten district within Eving retains traces of its older village character.
The Fredenbaumpark, bordering Eving to the south, is one of Dortmund's largest parks with a boating lake and the Big Tipi, a former Expo 2000 structure now used as a youth facility. The Dortmund-Ems-Kanal runs along Eving's western edge. The district's housing stock is a mix of mining-era terraced houses and post-war blocks. Dortmund Hauptbahnhof is reachable by U-Bahn in about 15 minutes. The Nordmarkt in neighbouring Nordstadt provides a multicultural market. Adult companionship follows NRW's regulatory framework.
