Glauchau has about 26,500 residents and lies on the Zwickauer Mulde in the Zwickau district of Sachsen. The Schloss Forderglauchau, a Renaissance castle, houses the local museum and a textile collection documenting Glauchau's weaving history. Textile manufacturing drove the town's growth in the 19th century. The Schloss Hinterglauchau, a second castle, stands directly behind it.
